In the Nahuatl language, every action that we do always implies a commitment, not only towards us, and not only towards life, but beyond death. I believe that our language is a way of keeping alive that which everyone has wanted to kill, but that remains there: it is the form of life that we defend all the time. In Spanish it would be very difficult for us to defend the primordial essence of our life, the primordial essence of our dead.
