Uma introdução metafilosófica ao pensamento especulativo de Alfred N. Whitehead

This paper aims at a brief introduction to Alfred N. Whitehead’s speculative philosophy centred at a reading and a presentation of the first chapter of the first part of his most important oeuvre, Process and Reality (1929). We shall prepare for this reading with a brief exposition of the projects that involve this monumental book, presenting its parts and main objectives of each one. We shall present how the general project can be identified, even as a preliminary analysis, at his sophisticated concept of speculative philosophy, which does not deal in aimless divagations, but with a careful exercise of experimentally frame a coherent and logical system with empirical applications and adaptations. In summation, it is a metaphilosophical approach on how to do philosophy, its limits, its recommendations and renewed responsibilities at a reanimation of metaphysics and speculation that never loses sight of concrete nature.
