Abstract

The article is the result of a quantitative-qualitative field and documentary study. Its objective was to analyze the notifications and complaints of health services on violence against children and adolescents in primary care in the city of Mossoro-RN. The field re- search was carried out in two Basic Health Units (UBS) with appli- cation of 53 questionnaires to professionals from seven different cat- egories: Doctor, Nurse, Dentist, Social Worker, Nursing Technician, Oral Health Assistant and Community Health Agents. We identified that violence against children and adolescents is invisible in health services, especially in basic care. In Mossoró, there are 46 UBSs and the SINAN, reveals that only 20 cases were identified between the years 2013 to 2017. Therefore, permanent education for professionals about violence against them is fundamental, so as to enable them to understand, notify and even denounce such cases.
