The research addresses the use and studies of Artificial Intelligence (AI) focused on Information Science (IS) tasks, its objective is to analyze the last 20 years of Brazilian scientific production regarding AI, the specific objectives are to identify the approaches of AI, IS, authors, institutions, cientific magazine, professional areas, the volume of publications and the methodologies used in the studies through a quantitative analysis. The works were retrieved at the following bases: Brapci, Peri and at the Repository of the Brazilian Federation of Librarians' Associations (BFLA). The method used was the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and descriptive statistics resulted in the analysis of thirty publications. It was concluded that despite the increase in the volume of publications in the last three years, considering the delimited period, the scientific production on applications of Artificial Intelligence in Information Science is still low and shows the trends of more studies in 'organization and representation of information' and 'machine larning'.
