Resumo

Este artigo discute a ligação que se estabelece entre as agendas de combate à pobreza e de proteção do meio ambiente a partir de iniciativas que adotam abordagens comunitárias participativas. Essas buscam potencializar ações voltadas para populações locais que se encontram em situação de vulnerabilidade. Os desafios que essas enfrentam são apresentados aqui na forma de modelos, que explicam seu funcionamento interno. E finalmente, descreve-se um instrumento participativo, nascido da Convenção sobre Diversidade Biológica, baseado no direito consuetudinário.
