Abstract

This article discusses the recent crisis in Ukraine and the strategic implications of the clash between NATO, the European Union and Russia. More specifically, the text seeks to understand the use of the hard power by the Russian Federation during the crisis and how this use can lead to a reassessment of European idealistic approach of international relations and military matters. At the same time, the article discusses the possibility and/or necessity of changes in American military strategies to deal with future problems in Eastern Europe.
