Abstract

The text discusses the polyphonic performance in the perspective of the practice of directors from Cariri, south of Ceará, who play more than one role in the scenic composition and see the creative process as a place of expansion of knowledge, thus exercising the function as mediators of theatrical making, enhancing the training of artists for the performance of polyphonic performance. The research dialogues with the idea of polyphonic acting defended by Ernani Maletta (2016), which implies the search for na artistic work that responds to the polyphonic image of the theater itself, in which the individual, when assuming his role in creation, can appropriate of the other discourses that make up the scenic materiality.

Maria Lucivania de Lima Barbosa - Artista, pesquisadora e professora. Mestra em Artes Cênicas pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte-UFRN e Licenciada em Teatro pela Universidade Regional do Cariri-URCA. Atualmente é professora substituta do Departamento de Teatro da URCA e professora efetiva da rede pública do estado da Paraíba.
