Participations in the Digital Space
A Discussion Based on Art Magazines in Brazil

According to virtual philosopher Marcello Vitali-Rosati (2016), digital space is not just about digital environments, but it translates itself by the space in which we live and by its inseparable whole of everything that takes place online. Within the context of digital art magazines, this notion allows us to understand that these publications help to connect what happens on the Internet with what happens in physical space. Taking the Brazilian case, this paper will look at the forms of digital participation involved in five magazines, whether through events, calls for publication or exchanges on social networks. In this context, I draw a parallel between the participatory approaches of these publications and the artistic trends developed in Brazil that seek to renew the experience of the sensible, transforming its readers into participants (HUCHET 2014).
