Abstract

The objective of the present study was to determine the
psychometric qualities of the Aptitude Scale (B-1) of the CMI of J. O. Crites.
The sample was composed of 600 male and female students from the
8th grade of elementary school to the 3rd year of High school, aged 13 to
18 years. The date were collected by collective application of the scale
and analyzed statistically. The results indicated that, despite some evidence
about the reliability of the subscales, there is a need to revise them
owing to their low homogeneity and total absence of discriminative sensitivity
to variables of a temporal nature. We conclude that adaptations of
the scale are needed to ensure their value as a diagnostic instrument in
the practice of vocational counseling in Brazil.
