EARLY HOME CARE FOR EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN
Abstract
This study describes an intervention program for exceptional
children. Date regarding the children was gathered through behavior
observation and enterviews with parents. The subjects were 13
exceptional children, whose ages varied from 10 months through three
years and 11 months, and their parents. The intervention was carried
out in the child's own home, involving two conditions: 1) general orientation
of the family through discussion of the child's major behavior
problems; 2) training of parents in the use of specifics programs. The
results showed that after three months, significant changes ocurred in
parents attitudes as well as in the children's behavior.
