The form ŋɡè is a heterosemic morpheme; it is realized as a verbal nucleus of the clause, appears in depictive clauses, co-occurs in different types of copulative clauses and, marks different informative strategies within the discourse. As a verbal nucleus, it presents the structure of a state verb; within a depictive predicate, it is realized as a core predicate and as a secondary predicate a property concept, a nominal or an adverbial predicate appears. Within a copulative construction, it is a kind of auxiliar; grammatical and functional morphemes are attached to it. Copulative clauses present a great variety of structures and functions, such as, equational, attributional, locative, comparative and, deictic-identificational. In discourse, this morpheme marks the focus expressed in arguments and adjuncts; it also appears in different types of cleft clauses: it cleft, WH cleft and, reverse WH.
