About the Journal

Cadernos de Linguagem e Sociedade (Papers on Language and Society)

Cadernos de Linguagem e Sociedade (Papers on Language and Society)

Papers on Language and Society (L&S) is a biannual interdisciplinary journal that seeks to publish and disseminate current and original research about a broad range of areas focusing on the relations between language and social, political, educational, and cultural practices.

The Journal receives a steady influx of scientific research findings that include unpublished scientific articles, reviews, interviews, and essays, written in Portuguese, English, Spanish or French.

L&S is unique in requiring text submittals to be unpublished, both in Brazil and abroad, an editorial policy which distinguishes it from other journals in the same subfield. Another prerequisite that differentiates L&S from its peers is the explicit principle of publishing texts that critically discuss the relationship between language/discourse and social practices, with text-oriented analyses, and refrain from using sexist language or any type of discrimination based on prejudice, according with the norms of the journal. The publication standards ensure its position in comparison with other journals in the target subarea. We accept articles written in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French.
