O trajeto e a rua: a linguagem da cidade e a socialidade urbana

Abstract

The objective of this essay is to show that the natural environment of language unfolds in natural environment proper and built environment. The latter includes the city, which is one of the most conspicuous construct of human activity. The city will be considered as a kind of language, which in ecosystemic linguistics is defined as interaction. Since everything in this built environment has semiotic value, i. e., means something for its inhabitants, their activities (behavior) are a seen as a kind of acts of communicative interaction. To live in the city, walk through it, enjoy it, is to communicate. However, there is also a bad side to it. There are moments of happiness, but also of suffering, as usual in life.

Author Biographies

Elza Kioko Nakayama Nenoki do Couto, Universidade Federal de Goiás

Fez o Mestrado e Doutorado em Língua Portuguesa (PUC-SP). Atualmente é professora Associada da Universidade Federal de Goiás. Vinculada ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras e Linguística. Orienta trabalhos de Mestrado e Doutorado na área de Linguística com ênfase em Análise do Discurso, Ecolinguística, Linguística Ecossistêmica, Análise do Discurso Ecológica, Antropologia do Imaginário. Desenvolveu estágio pós-doutoral sobre a linguagem dos ciganos kalderash de Aparecida de Goiânia, na Universidade de Brasília. No momento (julho/2019) está desenvolvendo outro estágio de pós-doutorado na Universidade de Bolonha (Itália) sob a supervisão do professor Roberto Mulinacci. É líder, no Diretório do CNPq, do NELIM (Núcleo de Ecolinguística e Imaginário). Publicou os livros Em busca da casa perdida: Vozes e imaginário de meninos de rua (2005), Ecolinguística e imaginário (2012), Ecolinguística: Um diálogo com Hildo Honório do Couto (2013). Desenvolve, com bolsa PQ do CNPq, o projeto a Linguagem Rural Brasileira: Gramática e Discurso. É representante regional (Brasil) da Análise do Discurso Ecológica/Ecossistêmica (Critical Ecosystemic Linguistics) no Steering Group da International Ecolinguistics Association, localizada na University of Gloucestershire, Reino Unido. Participa como pesquisadora da Rede de Estudos da Língua Portuguesa ao Redor do Mundo, coordenado pela profa. Dra. Vânia Casseb Galvão (UFG).
