Eugenio Coseriu: precursor da ecolinguística

O objetivo deste artigo é mostrar que o linguista romeno Eugenio Coseriu pode ser considerado um dos precursores da ecolinguística em geral e da linguística ecossistêmica em especial. Contrariamente ao clima estruturalista em que atuou, ele sempre defendeu a ideia de que a língua é basicamente comunicação e que o sistema é um construto forjado pelos linguistas ao observarem os atos de interação comunicativa concretos. Via também a língua como um fenômeno dinâmico, sempre se adaptando às necessidades comunicativas de seus usuários. Para ele a língua deve ser encarada em sua totalidade, não reducionisticamente, embora cada investigador específico deva fazer um recorte a fim de estudá-lo microscopicamente. Porém, ao fazê-lo não esquece que o que delimitou é parte de um todo que não deve ser ignorado.
