Call for Special Issues 2026

The Anuário Antropológico, Journal of the Graduate Program in Social Anthropology at the University of Brasília, will accept, until March 31, 2025, proposals for the publication of thematic dossiers for two of its volumes in 2026.

Proposals will be accepted in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish.

Proposals should be sent to the journal's email, containing the following information and responding to the following conditions:

About the Editors:

  • Both must hold a PhD in Social Anthropology and be affiliated with institutions from different units of the Brazilian federation or countries.
  • Updated Lattes Curriculum of the editors— in the case of Brazilian proponents. For foreign editors, CVs will be accepted.

Regarding the Proposal:

The proposal must include the following information:

  • Title of the dossier, with justification for its relevance. It is expected that the justification addresses the contribution of the dossier to the existing literature on the subject.
  • Summary of the articles that will compose the dossier, with institutional identification of their authors. Each summary must have up to 150 words. The dossiers should bring together articles from researchers affiliated with different states (in Brazil) and/or countries.
  • The dossier should consist of between 4 and 7 articles, excluding the introduction, which should conform to the journal's style guidelines.
  • The dossier may consist of articles in different languages, namely Portuguese, English, Spanish, and French.
  • The proposal should be in Word format and contain a maximum of 2,000 words, excluding the summaries of the proposed articles for the dossier.

Regarding Organization and Editorial Flow:

  • Received articles will undergo screening by the dossier proponents, referred to here as invited editors.
  • The editors must indicate at least two reviewers for each of the articles that make up the dossier, considering criteria of institutional, regional, and national diversity, as well as functional diversity (reviewers at the beginning and end of their careers).
  • It will be the responsibility of the Yearbook's secretariat to send the articles for peer review and to communicate with the authors regarding the evaluation of their texts.
  • The reviews will be sent to the editors at the same time as they are sent to the authors. Authors will have up to 30 days to submit a revised version of their texts.
  • The final assessment of the proposed articles will be the responsibility of the Editorial Committee of the Anuário Antropológico, verifying whether they satisfactorily meet the reviewers' demands and the journal's quality standards. In unsatisfactory cases, publication will be denied.
  • The introduction to the dossier is the responsibility of the invited editors. In addition to presenting the texts that make up the dossier, the introduction should provide reflections on the state of the art of the topic and justify the relevance and originality of the dossier.
  • Editors may not participate as authors or co-authors of the articles included in the dossier.

Regarding Deadlines:

  • The proposal must be sent to the journal’s address (anuario_antro@unb.br) by March 31, 2025.
  • The results will be announced by April 30, 2025, on the journal's website and in an email sent by the organizers.

III – Selected dossiers must be submitted to the journal by the following dates:

  • July 31, 2025, dossier to be published in January 2026;
