Abstract

The three commentators invited by Anuário Antropológico all provide intriguing and provocative readings of my text and I thank them from the outset for the attentiveness and generosity of their comments. Azaola, Schritzmeyer and Thévenot address the conceptual and ethnographic dimensions of the text in equally balanced form, albeit with different emphasises in each case.

Author Biography

Luís Roberto Cardoso de Oliveira, Universidade de Brasília

Professor Titular Livre no Departamento de Antropologia da Universidade de Brasília, doutor em Antropologia pela Harvard University (1989), e bolsista de produtividade do CNPq nível 1A. Foi presidente da Associação Brasileira de Antropologia (2006-2008) e vice-coordenador do InEAC-INCT (2009-2022). Realizou pesquisas no Brasil, nos Estados Unidos, no Canadá/Quebec e na França, com ênfase nos seguintes temas: direitos, cidadania, democracia, políticas de reconhecimento e conflito.
