Abstract

The French Military Mission (MMF) of instruction was part of the modernization project of the Brazilian Army, involving cultural and defense aspects. Brazilian Government, observing weakness in military forces, decided to modernize and equip the national army through the MMF. The French officers who participated in the bilateral agreement with Brazil instructed the formation of students, created schools and changed the Brazilian military doctrine.
