Abstract

This article aims, from the gathering of six black women, to present the creative process and cultural production of the play A Empregada da Sufragista, by Gabriela Porfírio and Naiara Lira, premiered on July 30, 2019 in Brasilia - DF. As a backbone of the construction of the play, the authors report experiences of dorority, reception, cultural production and the the characters’ voices from the construction of a black female discourse.

Naiara Gonçalves de Almeida, Universidade de Brasília - UnB, Brasília/DF, Brasil

Naiara Gonçalves de Almeida (Naiara Lira) - é Mestra em Artes Cênicas pela Universidade de Brasília - UnB (2021) com a pesquisa A RAIVA COMO AFETO: produção cultural, processo criativo e acesso às Teatralidades Negras Brasileiras. A pesquisa recebeu Menção Honrosa de Melhor Dissertação no Prêmio UnB de Pós Graduação 2022. Atriz premiada pelo 23º Troféu Câmera Legislativa do DF durante o 51º Festival de Brasília do Cinema Brasileiro (2018), Naiara recebeu Menção Honrosa de melhor atriz de curta metragem no Five Continents International Film Festival – Venezuela (2019), ambos pelo protagonismo no curta "Presos que Menstruam" de Alisson Sbrana. Já em 2020, recebeu 3 prêmios de teatro pela lei Aldir Blanc DF: "Duo Camboatá" (atriz, cantora e diretora) "A Empregada da Sufragista" (diretora e roteirista) e como atriz do Coletivo Enleio. Como cantora profissional, lançou o álbum autoral "Retalhos" (2013) e realizou turnês na Holanda (2012), Sérvia (2012 e 2013) e Austrália (2015).

Gabriela Porfírio, Universidade de Brasília - UnB, Brasília/DF, Brasil

Master in Performing Arts from the University of Brasília (UnB, 2021) awarded in 2022 by UnB Postgraduate Prize. Graduated in Letters - Portuguese Language from UnB (2009). She is currently CEO and production director of her own company - Lira Produções Socioculturais. Experience in Arts as an actress, director and singer. Technique in Musical Theory by the School of Music of Brasilia (2005). In 2018, she represented the Best Actress award at the 23rd Legislative Chamber Trophy at the 51st Festival de Brasília do Cinema de Brasileiro. In 2019 she received “Honorable Mention for Best Actress in a Short Film” at the Five Continents International Film Festival – Venezuela. In 2020, she was awarded 1st place in the FAC Brasília 60 award in the Cultural Production category. Stage name: Naiara Lira.
