O domínio da cultura (reflexões preliminares sobre algumas mudanças do nosso tempo)

Abstract

We can say that sociology of the culture was restricted to art and literature and that now that situation starts to move, in consequence of a serie of factors, between them, the fact of that sociology faces the changes of the present times, for which the culture seems to be the best key of understanding. One of those factors is the technological revolution, that includes the joint between the communications and computer, generating consequences in the way of operation of the market, in new forms of sociability, the politics action and over all in the cultural sphere. We are going to a society strong centered in the field of the communication and diversions, tourism, consumption, in which the cultural sphere loses autonomy front to the economy, that discovers it as privileged field of accumulation of capital, what modifies the ethos of the age. The domain of the culture in the present times points with respect to the fact of that the world of the consumption produces ethics, organizes the symbolic field, establishes behavior standards, constructs mechanisms of social identity.
