REDES E GOVERNANÇA DAS POLÍTICAS PÚBLICAS
Keywords:
Network Approach. Management. Public Policy. Governance.Abstract
The aim of this study is to present some basic concepts about the so called network approach, that characterizes a wide range of theories and analytical models developed over the past decades that, in turn, aims to understand social, political and administrative dynamics based on the proposition that individuals act in a complex network of social relations. The intention is to allow an introduction to networking approach and some basic concepts that can assist in the management of policy networks. For this purpose, we review the literature that examines the main characteristics of two network approaches: one that deals with issues related to networks for developing an analytical strategy and a set of heuristics occupied in analyzing complex social issues and the other one that uses the same concept to characterize a specific governance structure that is being increasingly adopted in both the public and the private sectors. This study focuses on specific aspects related to public policy networks.
