EFICÁCIA DO PROGRAMA DOSE CERTA NA DISPONIBILIDADE DE MEDICAMENTOS PARA IDOSOS NO GRANDE ABC PAULISTA

The region of the Greater ABC, in São Paulo,
is known for its socio-spatial specificities, in
which demographic issues associated with the
elderly population stand out affecting public
health policies. This study aims to evaluate the
effectiveness of the pharmaceutical assistance
program of the São Paulo State Government,
known as Correct Dose Program (Programa
Dose Certa). For this purpose, this study
circumscribes itself to two diseases with
incidence and prevalence associated to elderly
populations (people aged 65 years or more),
namely systemic arterial hypertension and
rheumatoid arthritis. Once an exploratory
research was chosen, with quantitative
variables obtained through surveys, and the
data of users of the Correct Dose Program
being analyzed according to the descriptive
statistical method, the test was applied to nonprobabilistic
variables collected through
questionnaires applied to 406 users of the
program. The result of the research showed
that, in the municipalities of Rio Grande da
Serra and São Caetano do Sul, the Correct Dose
Program partially meets the request for
availability of medicines; on the other hand, the
pharmaceutical assistance understood as
service provision was evaluated as satisfactory
by the users of the analyzed municipalities.
