Abstract

This review aims to provide a significant contribution to the understanding of Judith Butler's approach to Queer Theory. It focuses on analyzing the issues that the author addresses in her work "The Claim of Antigone," examining how Butler confronts the classical interpretations of Hegel and Lacan on Greek tragedy. Furthermore, this text strives to elucidate the main arguments used by Butler to deeply question the gender and family norms established by society and politics. It also highlights the philosophical solutions proposed by the author as activist practices throughout the book.
