This paper aims, from a comparative study, stimulating debate about the fundamental theoretical issues present in Giddens and Bourdieu, namely: the individual and the social structure. The understanding of the dynamics of social life is an old demand in sociology that has driven the emergence of various theoretical currents over the centuries. From this perspective, Giddens and Bourdieu have proposed as central to their analyzes elucidate the problem of the relationship between the action of individuals and social structure.
