The teleological argument for the existence of God assumes many versions. Today, some philosophers classify these teleological arguments mainly as deductive or inductive. The deductive arguments date back to the Thomistic tradition, which finds proponents to this day. The inductive arguments are more recent and use probability and scientific criteria of hypothesis choice. We will make a comparative, non-exhaustive analysis of the similarities and differences of these two types of teleological arguments, identifying their remarkable characteristics, given the importance of these formulations to justify rationally the existence of God in the present time.
