In this paper we consider the coherence of the concept of omnipotence, an attribute traditionally ascribed to the God of the great monotheist traditions. We propose an adequate description of the concept so as to be able to consider some traditional paradoxes of omnipotence that challenge the coherence of this concept. In our analysis, we distinguish between (1) the concept of omnipotence considered by itself, from (2) the concept of omnipotence when considered conjoined with the other divine attributes traditionally ascribed to God, because the answer to the paradoxes will be different depending on (1) or (2).
