Abstract

Publication of scholarly research in electronic form is now commonplace. It is therefore becoming possible to see how electronic publishing differs from print publishing. An analysis of the differences provides some indication of likely trends in the immediate future. A brief discussion of some of the factors as they apply to scholarly journals is presented here. It is concluded that one of the more significant developments will be an increasing diversification of the publishing process.
