This article examine magazines news from a range of perspectives given by the work of Anthony Giddens, with his very idea of the importance of the discourse of specialist, the concept of reflexivity and themes about globalization. Also important to this present article is the work of Mike Featherstone, which pursues an economic and cultural focus. Both of which he argues are important in the analysis of brazilian journalism, He is particular worried to prove how life styles acts as barriers to the creation of a national idea of identity. Second, he argues that economic integration into the developing transnacional, multi-media corporate structure of the Brazílian media. There is a particular approach adopted when considering the themes explored by the magazines with the concept of difference and its uses. The specialist media is done by journalists who frequently write about a genre born of a great insecurity of modem life. These material can be regarded as a model case from the point of view of transnational, criticai journalism research.
