The masters program on Education for Interculturality and Sustainability (MEIS) is a professional program run by the Institute for Educational Research of the University of Veracruz, in Mexico. With only four years of existence, this initiative aimed at constructing other academic relations has been both a source of admiration and tension for the dominant academic structure. In this article, we present this educational proposal and analyze its main strengths and challenges. Aware of the need to strengthen the collaboration network with similar experiences, we hope that the ideas we share here contribute to a common reflexive exercise towards the transformation of academic practices as well as intercultural and socio-environmental relations.
