This article seeks to reflect on dialogism and multipersonal narration in De espaços abandonados, by Luísa Geisler (2018), an experimental novel that deals with Maria Alice’s search for her mother, Lídia, in Ireland. The context of the massive immigration of Brazilian people to the island plays a significant role in the (de)construction of the book, divided into three parts and full of genres such as letters, emails, grocery lists, and computer files. The alternation of voices between the first and third person, especially with the character Maria Alice, is discussed in this article before the concept of multipersonal narration. This study aims to demonstrate how the movement of presence and non-presence of the narrator in the first person, as well as the different languages-genres used, reinforce a necessary boundary for the development of the plot.
