Brasileiros e brasileiras na Suíça: sonhos, frustrações e realizações

Com uma das taxas de migração mais altas do continente europeu, ultrapassando inclusive outras nações do Ocidente, como Áustria, Reino Unido e Países Baixos, a Suíça vem despontando como um cenário de especial interesse para estudos migratórios desde a segunda metade da década de 1990. O presente artigo visa, portanto, mapear o perfil sociodemográfico dos migrantes brasileiros na Suíça, evidenciando suas motivações para migrar e dificuldades de permanência no país de acolhimento. Para tanto, faz-se um levantamento de dados primários com 617 respondentes, por meio de um questionário veiculado em grupos de Facebook, Linkedin e Whatsapp. Os principais achados incluem a predominância feminina do conjunto amostral, com faixa etária média acima de 31 anos e alta escolaridade, sendo o matrimônio a principal estratégia de migração desse público. No que concerne à população masculina, a estratégia mais adotada foi a obtenção de visto de trabalho ainda em solo brasileiro. Ambos os sexos encontram dificuldades relativas ao idioma e à cultura, sendo que a intenção da maioria é permanecer no país por tempo indeterminado. Ressaltam-se como contribuições o avanço da teoria acerca do processo de feminização no fenômeno migratório e das barreiras envolvendo a eleição por esse destino europeu.
