About the Journal
Scope
The Space and Geography Journal is a biannual electronic journal, open access, with blind peer review, published since 2000 by the Graduate Program in Geography, Department of Geography, University of Brasília (UnB ). It aims to offer the interested community themes related to geographic space in its multiple dimensions, favoring an interdisciplinary approach. The Journal takes up and updates efforts to build a forum for the dissemination and debate of the work of professors, researchers and students who have a geographic perspective of analysis. Space and Geography, thus, seeks to contribute to and disseminate the debate produced in different areas of Geographical Science, considering Geography as a Science that seeks to interpret and analyze spatial arrangements in their different scales and locations, whether these arrangements are of physical-environmental, socio-spatial origin or themes strongly intertwined between these two categories, such as Landscape Studies, Environmental Geography, Political Ecology, Territory Planning and Management, and many others.

Peer Review Process
The Space and Geography Journal publishes original scientific articles and the authors undertake to declare that their manuscript is unpublished and that it is not being submitted, in part or in whole, to another journal. The text of the articles must be the result of dense research and with theoretical-methodological rigor. Submission is made directly on the Platform and goes through the entire evaluation process.
--> The evaluation process for the Paper and Review Sections consists of two stages <--
1) Evaluation by the Editorial Committee
For the text to proceed to blind peer review, it is first necessary to meet the following criteria, which will be analyzed by the editors of the Journal:
(i) articles that are outside the scope of the journal will not be accepted. Therefore, the texts must be the result of an analysis that has the geographic space as a focus.
(ii) Clear and understandable texts, in accordance with the cultural norms of the language in which the article is developed.
(iii) Articles must be in the format determined in the “Guidelines for Authors”, especially with regard to: (a) minimum and maximum word length; (b) abstract, bibliographical references and citations in accordance with the respective ABNT standards; (c) title in the language in which the text was produced, in addition to the title in English (if the article is in English or Spanish, present the title, abstract and keywords in Portuguese) and (d) keywords other than those that appear in the title.
(iv) The Space and Geography Journal will use a similarity detection system in this first stage of evaluation. If the detection of the system presents parts of the text or full text submitted, the article will not proceed to the next stage. It is suggested that the author(s) be attentive to correctly cite the sources.
2) Evaluation by the Scientific Committee (ad hoc reviewers)
After the editors' evaluation, the text will be sent to two evaluators that make up the Journal's Scientific Committee (ad hoc reviewers), formed by PhD researchers from different national and international institutions with works published in the most different areas of knowledge in Geography. The evaluations will be carried out based on the Appraiser's Form delivered by the editors of the Journal and, in case of divergence of opinions, the article may be sent to a third evaluator or the decision will be taken by the Editorial Board. All articles are sent without identification of the authors, ensuring a double-blind evaluation system.
Frequency
The Space and Geography Journal has a periodicity of 2 (two) issues per year (one every 6 months), each with at least 10 (ten) scientific articles, published in a continuous flow within the semester.
Open Access Policy
This journal offers free immediate access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public provides greater democratization of knowledge. The journal does not charge submission or processing fees for evaluated articles.
