Narrative of inequality in the architecture of poverty
Keywords:

The objective of this article is to use Ecosystemic/Ecological Discourse Analysis (EDA) to discuss the meanings inherent in the legal discourse about social-house programs, by looking at the city as a discourse in itself, therefore going far beyond the legal discourse. The latter shows a segregation of the public space, which sectorize the town and the soil use in favor of the entrepreneurs. This results in inequalities and what came to be called poverty architecture. Considering the program of the Ministry of the Cities of São Paulo and the social-house programs it is possible to begin to understand the cities and the “generous” atitude of the élites when they build huge social-house condominiums in the periphery of the cities. This bring suffering to the poor because they are obliged to live distant from their jobs. This is a manifestation of a class discourse.
