THE PROGRAM COCORICÓ AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH CLASSIC CHILDREN’S STRORY THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST UNDER THE EYES OF CHILDREN

Resumen

Changes brought about by digital culture impacts on the creation of new narratives, formats, and media, which demand new forms of reading and new abilities from readers/receptors. Thus, this article analyzes how children interact with an audiovisual narrative through their oral expression. This story is Belilica and Ditofera, a parody of the fairytale The Beauty and the Beast from the series Cocoricó tells Classics (Cocoricó Conta Classicos in Portuguese), which is broadcasted on the TV Cultura channel and available on Youtube and in DVD. The theoretical rationale is based on scholars from the following areas: children's literature, learning process, psychology and psychoanalysis, educational processes and audiovisual communication. This investigation took place in a public institution for early childhood located in Gama/DF. The participant observation method was used along with a conversation circle with five-year-old children. The results highlight relationships established by children among elements of the narrative and their experience as receptors, readers, and interpreters of other written, audiovisual, oral and iconic formats from their experiences in their distinct social-familiar, social-education backgrounds.
