The present work deals with the analysis of patriarchal /
capitalist ideology in the definition of children’s toys and games. From this
perspective, we proposed to identify how public education, in Mossoró/
RN, establishes toys and games for children, according to sex. The present
analysis was based on the foundations of materialism-historical and
dialectical and feminism. The present analysis was based on the foundations
of materialist-historical and dialectical and feminism. As an investigation
of a qualitative nature, we used bibliographical and field research. In order
to collect the data we used as an instrument the interview containing a
script of semi-structured questions. To do so, we conducted field research
in infant education units in Mossoró/RN. Thus, we understand that the toy
is functional to capital, as it contributes to the naturalization of the sexual
division of labor, which is essential for the production and reproduction
of capital, by reducing costs and overexploiting the labor force to capital.
