This article synthesizes a theoretical-political debate held in our
master's thesis. By identifying the expansion of distance education as a
phenomenal expression of the complex process of regressivity of the right
to public education, presencial and socially referenced, has the objective
of analyzing the political-pedagogical tendencies that are presented to the
formative process in the particularity of distance education (EAD) and
the challenges presented to the Brazilian Social Work. It understands that
the cultural ideology of EAD formation relates technological determinism
in social life and, especially, in educational processes, to contemporary
pedagogies, such as: training for employability, learning to learn and
pedagogic subjectification of the training processes. It indicates that
the professional training in Social Work through EAD extends to the
ideological orientations of contemporary educational policies. Finally, it
considers that the political-pedagogical tendencies of the EAD indicate
that the Social Service will be faced with tensions and contradictions
that directly collide with the principles and purposes of the professional
ethical-political project.
