Colonização alemã e cidadania: a participação política dos teuto-brasileiros no Rio Grande do Sul (século XIX)

Abstract

This article is a reflection on the exercise of political citizenship among the teuto-brazilians in Rio Grande do Sul during the 19th century. The research mainly focuses on which instruments of political participation they used to defend their interests. In second moment, it discusses the political action regarding Karl von Koseritz, based on his political speeches made in Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Sul. There was also a concern to contribute to the debate of some controversial issues about the integration process of the teuto-brazilian group in Brazilian political game.
