Abstract

From 1980 decade we assist to a slow and continue revaluation of politics, power and political action. The new approaches about Political History mean, in the foreground, reflections concerning the power coupled to the social aspects of human existence. Since then, the analysis about the relations State/Society aim to demonstrate how they complement each other. What is important, in the New Political History, is the perception of how the political relations, valid in the Brazilian society throughout 20th century, can not be solved just through the study of the State and its institutions. This article seeks, after the formulation of the New Political History dimension, to indicate some political studies who have been coming to fruition about Brazil’s republican period.
