The population growth associated with industrial development provides an increased on the rate of critical pollution events. It is clear that water bodies in addition to sustain the human life and ecosystems are also the principal receptors of liquids wastes from human activities and many times theses wastes don’t receive an adequate treatment before disposal. Bearing in mind, the protection of human health and maintenance of water quality is necessary the knowledge of these process that occur on the water body before a pollutant disposal. These process involved on pollutants dispersion are numerous and complex otherwise is impossible describe then without employ a mathematical model. Mathematical models are an instrument of environmental management essential to ensure that the human and environmental security. In this paper is considerate a two-dimensional (longitudinal and vertical) transient model of pollutant dispersion to investigate the phenomenon of pollutant dispersion in a water body, these work aim’s to present an approach of analytical solution and compare the model with experimental data from literature. The analytical solution is solved using separation of variables helped with a similarity transformation. An for investigate the model proposed are presented charts of concentration behavior versus a function of time and distance, showing these behavior spatially and temporally, the results show the model are able to represent the phenomenon.
