Communication

Abstract

Discusses relevant aspects of communication either as a human (social) activity or a topic of sudy. Presents a few comments on the communication process, from the Shannon and Weaver work to nowadays, including changes brought about by the introduction of information technologies onto the communication environment, with special emphasis on organisational environment and communication channels. The author also presents some ideas about communication structuring, particularly regarding scholarly communication, foscusing on the journal article. The discussion also refer to other types of communication. The text ends with a few comments on differences between communication in developed and developing countries. An important list of recommended readings is found at the end.
