IMPLEMENTATION OF AN INTELLIGENCE SYSTEM FOR THE GREATER DYNAMISM OF THE ANTARES NETWORK - A NETWORK OF INFORMATION

Abstract

This study attempts to put the hyper-competition and hyper-information process being experienced today and the reflexes of globalization into a context, as well as introduce the concepts relative to Competitive Intelligence and their applicability for strategic decision making in real time. What is occurring is not only an increase in the circulation of information, but a process through which a continual mass of data intervenes, in an increasingly more incisive manner, in the decision making process. Hence, Competitive Intelligence proposes, by means of a systematized process for the collection, treatment, analysis and diffusion of value added information, to provide decision makers with strategic elements that will allow for the establishment of guidelines, the visualization of tendencies and market niches, and also for an innovation of their products and processes. Furthermore, this study presents a methodological proposal for the implementation of a Competitive Intelligence system as a facilitator mechanism for the greater dynamism and innovation of the Antares Network - a Network of Information Services in S&T, coordinated by IBICT - Instituto Brasileiro de Informação em Ciência e Tecnologia (Brazilian Institute for Information in Science and Technology).
