The use of process managing principles brings a new sight of information systems planing and managerial practices. Traditional organizational structures are replaced by operational units with teams sized as needed, being them responsible for production or services, always client oriented. After a brief introduction to process management fundamentals, the strategic characteristics of information management in the specific processes and sub-processes related to the production and services sectors, as well as to an information unit are emphasized.
