This article aims to propose a connection that demonstrates a Hegelian influence (using his work Science of Logic as a pillar) on Marx’s understanding of liberal economists and their interpretation of society, mainly in the themes addressed during the first division of his work Foundations of the critique of political economy (Grundrisse). These themes consist in the analysis of a harsh criticism of the abstractions and ahistorical conceptions promoted by what is called the national economy through its great theorists and main exponents: Adam Smith and David Ricardo. Reacting to these conceptions, Marx will propose the adoption of a concrete notion of universality, a similar concept to Hegel’s logical-real whole.
