Abstract

This article investigates in the "Black Notebooks" what Heidegger understands with the theme education, formation and culture in the modern-contemporary context. Inserted in the Western philosophical tradition, Heidegger understands that the question of education and training, under the domain of metaphysical thought, has been formalised and has been reduced to instrumentalisation. Only through the exhaustion of the possibilities of the metaphysical model and the openness to a new principle, in which access to the waves of truth in history and freedom is prepared, can education and the formation of man succeed in a true way, inaugural and liberating.
