Abstract

This research indicates a theoretical test about the role played by solidarity economies in creating social bonds as joint factor between man and society. First, the light of authors such as Mauss and Polaniyi, the research shows the transformation imposed to modern man: to be social to economics. Reflecting the consequences of this change, it is possible to observe the growing individualism recommended by the capitalist system which caused the loss of the bonds previously considered fundamental for social development: giving, receiving, return, trust, cooperate. This also shows the resistance movements that have started in the course of history and sought to oppose the dominant economy. The solidarity economies emerge as an alternative path in the search for other economic options able to return to man his dignity, finishing individualism and looking for the enhancement of exchanges permeated by non-economic values, as trust and cooperation.
