Tonatio Castilán o un tal Dios Sol o la conquista deconstruida
Abstract
Em Tonatio Castilán o un tal Dios Sol (1993) Denzil Romero tematiza a vida do lugar-tenente de Hernán Cortés, Pedro de Alvarado, valendo-se de dados historiográficos provenientes dos cronistas das Índias. Apesar do título do romance poder nos levar a pensar em uma biografia, Romero faz do nome da personagem uma desculpa para alinhavar uma totalidade romanesca de múltiplas vozes e perspectivas. Nossa investigação centra seu interesse no trabalho desconstrucionista que o autor venezuelano realiza com a história latino-americana, que começa a se evidenciar quando ele decide concentrar o eixo diegético em uma personagem que tem relevância histórica menor, se comparado com Hernán Cortés.
