Abstract

The paper deals with Hugo Rodas's trip to São Paulo between 1981 and 1982 at the invitation of José Celso Martinez Correa and the subsequent move of the Pitu Group from Brasilia to São Paulo. It presents the historical contextualization of the São Paulo cultural scene that precedes the moment when the Group resided in the Oficina Theater. Then, it reports the beginning of the production of Fala Lorito, the last work of the group that started after a musical show that Hugo put together with Maria Alice Vergueiro featuring the music of Brecht / Weil. It tells also how the Pitu Group and Hugo Rodas approached Antonio Abujamra, then director of the Brazilian Comedy Theater, TBC, who ended up as a producer and co-director of the play that premiered in January 1983.
