Abstract

This article features excerpts from an interview by Jean-Jacques Lemêtre to Jean-Marc Quillet, published in the book La musique de Jean-Jacques Lemêtre au Théâtre du Soleil (Paris: Ed. L’Harmattan, 2013). The composer talks about some aspects of his work at the company, detailing the origin of certain procedures and providing details about ideas such as “the actor’s second lung”, “actor as a soloist in the play”, “tuning instruments according to the voice of the actors”.
