RIVERÃO SUSSUARANA: CRITICISM BY THE BOURDIEU OPTICS

Abstract

Considering the controversy that always has been provoked by Glauber Rocha in the political and cultural context of his time, this paper analyzes the single novel written by this filmmaker, while it seeks to understand why Riverão Sussuarana did not achieve positive results in his review. For so, the discussion will be guided around the understanding of Bourdieu's Fields, in his book The rules of art: genesis and structure of the literary field. The research methodology chosen was the theoretical review, and the completion of the proposed analysis signals that the rejection suffered by the work in question does not need to be definitive, it is possible, even today, to positively regain specialized attention around this work.
