This article discusses the context of the construction of the "Boi Pavulagem" plot, a Boi-Bumbá theater organized by the Arraial do Pavulagem Institute in Belém do Pará. The article begins with an initial bibliographical review of the Boi-bumbá in Pará, followed by the description of the context of the Arraial do Pavulagem Institute at the present time. Finally, the relations woven between the plots of the Boi-bumbá in Belém and the plot of the trawlers were analyzed. As a partial result of this ongoing research, it could be seen that the plots of the Bois-bumbá of Belém are constructed through a dramatic narrative and staged, based on a discourse of tradition and maintenance of ancient characters and rituals, while the processions of the Junino trawler, promoted by the Arraial do Pavulagem Institute, are based on a musical narrative, influenced by the hybridism of musical practices that occur within the Institute, making it more permeable to changes and re-meanings provoked by the current urban sociocultural context.
