The beginning of Barack Obama´s term produced positive expectations on Latin America, a continent which was ignored by his predecessor, George Bush. To give attention to Latin America implies giving prestige to Brazil. Nonetheless the real relationship could not meet the expectations, although without causing great deceptions.
